Pierce was the first great track athlete during the early years of the track & field program. He was a four-year letterman and a two-year captain and MVP of the squad during his career. He was a two-time individual qualifier for the NCAA Div. III Championships in the 440-yard hurdles. He was a seven-time All-New York State track athlete and a two-time New York State
relay champion while being a two-time SUNYAC champion in the hurdles. During his four years of dual-meet competition he finished second only once while winning 50 times for a career winning percentage of .980.
While working on his advanced degree at Oneonta he served as the track & field coach and helped guide the squad to a second place finish at the New York State Championships.
Pierce’s professional career has been involved in upper management positions of various companies and his current job is as the Chief Executive Officer, Director of Hire Intelligence, Inc. which provides turnkey software solutions for managing pre-recorded on-demand video applications.
