SUNY Oneonta Athletics

McClafferty spent 33 years at SUNY Oneonta in various roles beginning in 1983 as a Residence Hall Director.  After a brief period away from the college, she returned in 1990 to residence life before becoming the Associate Registrar in 1991.  After one year, she moved into the leadership role in academic advisement until her retirement in 2020 as the Director.
 
McClafferty served the college on numerous committees that impacted the lives of all students including athletes.  She served as the Faculty Mentor to the women’s soccer program from the outset of the program in 2006 while serving on the Intercollegiate Athletics Board as a member and Chair.  She was also a member of the Hall of Fame Committee while she was the Chair of the IAB.  Her selfless service to the student athletes served as a model for others at the college to get involved.
 
McClafferty is an Honorary Inductee in multiple national Honor Societies recognizing her service to the college and students.  She was honored in 2004 as an Honorary Inductee into Chi Alpha Sigma National College Athlete Honor Society as recognition for her service to student athletes.  In 2003, McClafferty attained the highest honor in SUNY as the recipient of the prestigious Chancellor’s Award for excellence in professional service.
