Hall of Fame
Frank Super, who grew up in Oneonta, N.Y., according to coach Ernest C. Damaschke, was the greatest basketball player he had ever coached while at Oneonta Normal School prior to World War II.
The Oneonta Daily Star agreed and dubbed him the best player to attend ONS prior to the war. He scored over 400 points in three years and was the first player at ONS to be named to the State All-Star Team in 1939.
Super went on to become a highly successful football, basketball and baseball and track and field coach at Guilford Central and Mount Markham Central during his professional career. He coached numerous undefeated and league championship teams and ended his career as the Athletic Director at Mount Markham.
