Weaver was drafted by the Detroit Tigers in 1976 in the 16th round after a stellar four- year career on the hill and in the outfield for the Red Dragons. During his career he was a SUNYAC All-Star three times and was instrumental in leading the 1974 squad to the ECAC Upsate New York Championship. His career highlight was throwing a no-hitter against Brooklyn College in 1975.
He spent five years in the Tigers’ Organization and pitched for the major league team in the 1980 season where he went 3-4 with a 4.10 earned run average.
