Bunde was a four-year letter-winner in the sport of gymnastics during the years 1968-72. Despite being afflicted with polio as a child, he did not let that have any affect on his ability to perform. Dismounting on one leg to complete his routines was merely an adaptation that Rick made extremely well.

Bunde was a consistent scorer for the team during his career on the still rings and the parallel bars. He also contributed to the team’s success on the most difficult event, the pommel
horse. Bunde was a team player in every sense of the word and did what was necessary to help the team succeed during his four years.

His incredible ability helped him to achieve gold medalist honors in 1970 on the still rings and in 1971 on the parallel bars at the North Atlantic Gymnastics League championships.

Bunde has spent his professional career involved in the areas of consulting for technology
and software companies and in information systems and business processes. He is currently the President of Cynric Enterprises, L.L.C. in Waterbury, CT, where he owns and operates a chain of convenient stores and gas stations.
