Meagley, was a two-year standout for the Red Dragons basketball team while also playing No. 2 on the golf team.  Meagley led Oneonta in both scoring and assists during both of his seasons with the basketball team.  He was the team captain during the 1971-72 season where he was selected as the Most Valuable Player.
 
Meagley spent 37 years in the defense industry for IBM Federal Systems, Lockheed-Martin in Owego, NY.  His professional career was highlighted as being part of the team that won a two billion dollar contract to build a Presidential Fleet of helicopters.
