SUNY Oneonta Athletics

Don Ball, who is a resident of Oneonta, N.Y., was a man who was considered to be ahead of his time in the field of swimming.  He is the most successful men's coach of all time at Oneonta State with a career that spanned 20 years.

During his tenure as the men's coach he led the Red Dragons to SUNYAC, regional and national prominence while coaching two National Champions and 13 All-Americans.  To this day, Ball is the only swim coach to lead a Red Dragon squad to a SUNYAC Championship, which he did five times including four straight titles from 1967 to 1970.
