Hutchinson is another in a long line of men’s soccer players that ruled the pitch in the early 1980’s as a fierce defender. During his three-year career as a starting varsity player from 1980-82, he played on an ECAC championship team, served as team captain and was an All-State and All-SUNYAC player. During his varsity career the program put together a 28-19-6 overall record that included a 10-4-1 record in the SUNYAC.
After graduating with honors in both economics and business Hutchinson continued his education at Clark University where he earned a Master’s and Ph. D in economics. He also earned a certificate in higher education management from Harvard University in 2003. He is currently employed as an Associate Professor of Economics and Business at Lafayette College, where he has been a member of the college faculty since 1992.
