Howarth, a native of England, is one of the top players ever to put on a Red Dragons soccer uniform.  He served as team captain for all four years at Oneonta, was a four-time All-New York State selection, three-time All-SUNYAC selection and two-time All-American.  During the 1972 season he helped lead the Red Dragons to the NCAA National Tournament final versus Southern Illinois University at Edwardsville.

After graduating with a degree in psychology in 1974, Howarth began a professional soccer career that spanned 10 years from 1974 to 1983.  During that time he spent seasons with the New Jersey Brewers and California Sunshine of the American Soccer League and the Wichita Wings of the Major Indoor Soccer League.  While living in Kansas he spent time coaching boys and girls soccer teams to successful records as well as the Wichita State University club soccer team to a 41-6-2 record.

Howarth has spent the last 15 years in upper management of various companies and is currently the Director of Consulting Support Group, based in San Mateo, Ca., which consults with Airport Management groups all over the world.  Prior to that he was the Director of Administration for Venture Law Group in Menlo Park, Ca. for three years which is a law firm for Silicon Valley start up companies.  From 1993 to 1995 he worked for Wells Fargo Nikko Investment Advisors in San Francisco after having worked for the largest Law Firm and the largest Savings & Loan Institutions in the state of Kansas from 1983 to 1991.
