A career highlight for Thornhill included posting a still program record 14 points on Mar. 19, 1988 versus Merchant Marine.  That season he was team captain, led the squad in scoring with 66 points and was the team MVP.

Thornhill completed his degree in 1993 majoring in Sociology.  He has spent his professional career in the glass industry working his way through management.  He started in 1995 as a Production Manager at Coastal Glass Distributors in Charleston S.C. and is currently employed at Galaxy Glass as a Senior Account Executive.  In his current role, he has been involved in numerous high-profile projects in New York City including the Empire State Building and Freedom Tower.

Thornhill has never stopped playing lacrosse and has continued his post-collegiate athletic career with multiple clubs.  He has been playing for the New Jersey Reapers since 2010 where the club has posted multiple masters championships including the 2023 Ultra Grand Masters Division National Championship.
