Hall of Fame
Christian was a member of the varsity basketball team for three years after spending his freshman season on the junior varsity. Christian has the distinction of being one of a few athletes that will be in the Hall of Fame as an individual and as a member of a Team of Distinction. Christian was part of the 1976-77 basketball team that was inducted in 2008.
Christian, who double-majored in Education and Black Hispanic Studies, was one of the captains of the 1976-77 basketball team that played for the NCAA Division III championship. His performance during the championship weekend earned him All-Tournament honors, the only time he was included on any All-Tournament Team during his collegiate career. He was a second team All-SUNYAC selection in 1977 and played in the CUNY/SUNY All-Star game.
After graduating, Christian was an assistant basketball coach at Binghamton University before getting into officiating. He was an official with Board 49 Southern Tier Men’s Chapter and was the Official of the Year in 1990-91.
At the time of his induction, Christian resides in Florida and spent 27 years in radio and television broadcasting sales and management in various cities on the east coast including Binghamton and Buffalo along with Atlanta and Jacksonville. He is currently working as an Entrepreneur with Ignite, Organo Gold Coffee and Lyoness.
