Lemon Hoyt was a four-year starting point guard for the women’s basketball team from 1998-2002.  During her career with the Red Dragons, the team qualified for four SUNYAC tournaments.  The program also won one conference title and appeared in one NCAA and one ECAC tournament.  She was team co-captain during both her junior and senior years.

Oneonta compiled an overall record of 66-39 during Lemon’s career including a program-best 26-2 in 2000-01, when the team won the SUNYAC Championship and qualified for the NCAA Tournament.  She became the fourth women’s player to reach 1,000 points and finished her career with 1,029.  She also recorded 405 assists, which is currently fourth all-time.  She is also tied for seventh all-time with 188 steals.  As a senior, Lemon was selected to the All-SUNYAC and ECAC All-Star squads while being named to the D3Hoops.com All-Region Team.

After graduating with an Elementary Education degree, Lemon Hoyt continued to earn a Master’s Degree in Literacy from Binghamton University.  She is currently a Kindergarten teacher in the Binghamton City School District where she has been for 15 years.

Lemon Hoyt served as the girls’ varsity basketball coach at Binghamton High School for eight seasons.  During her tenure, she compiled a record of 123-22 including five STAC Championships, four Section 4, Class AA Championships, one New York State regional Championship and one New York State Final Four appearance.  She was selected as the Coach of the Year three times by both the Press & Sun Bulletin and the Basketball Coaches Association of New York.
