Dalton was a standout softball player from 1993 to 1996 and was one of the leaders of some of the best teams the school has ever had.  During her four years as a starting second baseman the Red Dragons amassed an amazing record of 92-35.  During her last three years she helped lead the program to an NYSWCAA title in 1994 and two ECAC appearances in 1995 and 1996.  She was a three-time All-SUNYAC and four-time All-State selection along with being an ECAC All-Star and team MVP as a senior.

Statistically Dalton is the career leader in batting average at .412 while being fifth in hits (158), 4th in doubles (25) and second in stolen bases (34).  She also is second all-time in the toughest to strikeout category with only 10 strikeouts in 383 career at-bats.

Dalton has spent her post-graduate years as a teacher and a coach in her hometown of Elmira.  She received a master's degree from Elmira College in Dec. of 2003 and was inducted into the Elmira Southside High School athletic Hall of Fame earlier that same year.
