Glassman was a four-year standout player for the Red Dragons who could play anywhere in the lineup.  He was voted team Captain and MVP during his junior and senior years and left the program as the all-time wins leader and still ranks among the top-20.

A Political Science major at Oneonta, Glassman has gone on to have a highly successful career as a collegiate tennis coach accumulating more than 500 career wins combined in men’s and women’s tennis.  He just completed his 20th year at Stony Brook University where he has been the only coach for the program since its transition to NCAA Division I.

Glassman has earned America East Coach of the Year honors multiple times during his tenure while leading his men and women to multiple conference championships and NCAA tournaments.  Additionally, Glassman’s student athletes have earned more than 60 ITA academic awards over the years.

After earning a Master’s Degree in Sports Management from Georgia Southern in 1991, Glassman became the coach of the women’s program where he turned them into a winning side leading them to a No. 42 national ranking during his final season in 1995.

A two-year stint at Louisiana Monroe as the women’s coach gave him a pair of Southland Conference championships and a Coach of the Year honor in 1997.  Glassman returned to Upstate New York and took over the program at Rensselaer leading the men to a regional ranking prior to joining Stony Brook in 1999.
