Aldrich was a top, two-sport athlete from 1959-63 in soccer and tennis.  In soccer, he was a defensive standout earning SUNYAC All-Conference and All-State honors twice during his career.  In tennis, Aldrich played No. 1 singles and doubles.
 
During his four years on the pitch, the Red Dragons put together an overall record of 26-11-1 while collecting a record of 16-7-1 in the NYSIAC, which is now the SUNYAC.  The last two seasons, Oneonta did not lose a game at home posting a 10-0 record.
 
As a member of the tennis team, Aldrich led the team to a better than .800 winning percentage.
 
Aldrich graduated with a Bachelor of Science degree in mathematics and science from Oneonta and spent his entire professional career as an educator.  He received a certification as an Administrator from C.W. Post in 1967 and earned a Master of Science degree from Hofstra University in 1970.
 
Aldrich began his career on Long Island in the Hauppauge Union Free School District as a secondary mathematics teacher.  He was there from 1963-71 advancing to Assistant High School Principal during his final year.  After spending four years as the Lafayette Central School District Middle School Principal, Aldrich settled in the Syracuse area where he spent 22 years in the North Syracuse Central School District until retirement in 1997.  His final position was as Executive Principal of Cicero-North Syracuse Central High School.
