SUNY Oneonta Athletics

Werner is this year’s Honorary Inductee after a remarkable career as a High School and Collegiate soccer coach in Vermont.  He was a four-year member of the men’s soccer team and was captain and an All-SUNYAC selection in 1970.  He also received a SUNY Chancellor’s Award for academic excellence in 1971.
 
Werner’s coaching accolades are numerous and include six Vermont State Coach of the Year Awards with seven state high school championships.  In 2004, he was inducted into the Vermont Principal’s Association Hall of Fame.
