ONEONTA, N.Y. - SUNY Oneonta women's lacrosse head coach Mackenzie King is pleased to announce the hiring of Sydney Gordon as an assistant coach for the upcoming season. Gordon joins the Red Dragons after a four-year playing career at NCAA Division II D'Youville University.

"Oneonta Women's Lacrosse is excited to welcome Sydney Gordon to the Dragon family as our newest assistant coach!" said King.

Gordon joins the Oneonta coaching staff after a standout four-year career at D'Youville University, where she developed into one of the top offensive players in the East Coast Conference. A native of Hamburg, N.Y., Gordon finished her career as a two-time All-ECC selection, earning Second Team honors in 2023 before being named First Team All-ECC in 2025.

Gordon was a consistent offensive presence throughout her career, finishing with more than 150 points and ranking among the program's top career scorers. Her 2023 season was particularly impressive: she recorded 43 goals and 16 assists for 59 points and earned Second Team All-ECC honors.

Coach King adds, "We are thrilled to have Sydney bring her experience, competitive energy, and passion for the game to Oneonta. Welcome to the Red Dragons, Coach Syd!"
