ONEONTA, N.Y. - After securing the fourth seed in the SUNYAC Tournament, the Oneonta women's lacrosse team will host fifth-seed Fredonia State on Saturday, April 25 at 11 a.m. on Red Dragon Field. The Red Dragons have reached the SUNYAC Tournament for the 12th straight season.

Oneonta enters the playoffs 9-5 overall, with a 6-3 record in the SUNYAC. Fredonia State finished the regular season 9-8 with a 5-4 SUNYAC record.
Freshman Ava Fitzsimons (Pearl River, NY/Pearl River) led the Red Dragons offense with 46 points on 41 goals and five assists. Fitzsimons also caused eleven turnovers and recorded 25 groundballs. Senior Lindsey Townes (Yorktown Heights, NY/Yorktown) added 40 points on 35 goals and five assists to the Red Dragons offense.
Freshman Emily McIntee (East Islip, NY/East Islip) had a strong season on the defensive end, leading the Red Dragons with 17 caused turnovers. Townes also added 16 caused turnovers.
Junior Margot Haring (Doylestown, PA/Central Bucks) received most of the starts in goal for Oneonta, recording 102 saves with an 8.89 goals against average and a .526 save percentage. Haring finished the season with an 8-5 record. Freshman Ava Berkowitz (Pleasantville, NY/Pleasantville) appeared in goal seven times this season for the Red Dragons with two starts, going 1-0, recording 41 saves, an 8.57 goals against average, and a .577 save percentage. Haring's save percentage placed her sixth in the nation and first in the SUNYAC.
Oneonta finished the regular season with 161 goals scored.
The Blue Devils finished the regular season with 167 goals scored. Mieley Baran led the team with 60 points on 32 goals and 28 assists. Katie O'Brien led Fredonia in goals with 36.
Carmyn Jacobs led on the defensive end with 21 caused turnovers and 29 groundballs.
Jessica Kowalski went 8-1 in net with 16 starts. She recorded a 9.73 goals against average and a .479 save percentage.
Oneonta defeated Fredonia State 11-4 earlier this season and is coming into the playoffs riding a three-game winning streak. Fredonia State finished the season winning five of their final six games.
The winner of this first-round matchup will travel to Oswego to take on the top-seeded Lakers on Wednesday, April 29.
