The State University of New York Athletic Conference has announced the 2021 All-Conference Field Hockey Team. Being selected to the team from SUNY Oneonta was senior
Emily Raymond (Deposit/Deposit) and junior
Carly Waszczak (Northport/Northport). Waszczak was a First Team selection while Raymond earned a Second Team nod.
Â
Raymond is a repeat selection as a Second Team performer previously earning the same honor at the conclusion of the 2019 season. Raymond started all 16 games for the Red Dragons this fall and was tied for third on the team in scoring with five points on two goals and one assist.
Â
"Emily's presence on the field, no matter what line we had her on, was key to our attack and defense," said Head Coach
Kelly Kingsbury. "Emily plays both sides of the ball extremely well and her sticks skills are impressive.  We will certainly miss Emily on the field next season."
Â
Waszczak was the defensive stopper for the Red Dragons this fall. She started every game and recorded a career best 12 defensive saves.
Â
"Carly has put together an impressive season for us defensively," said Kingsbury. "We have relied on her ability to break up the attack and start our attack and she really stepped up her game for us this season."
Â
Oneonta finished the 2021 season 3-13 overall while qualifying for the SUNYAC tournament.
