Cougars blank field hockey, 2-0

Box Score A Quick Look
The SUNY Oneonta field hockey team fell in Misericordia University 2-0 on Wednesday evening in non-conference action. The loss evens Oneonta's record to 3-3 on the year.

The Inside Story
After a scoreless first quarter, Misericordia got on the board with 55 seconds remaining in the half on a Kyleigh Knell goal off of a penalty corner. The Cougars secured the victory with 1:36 remaining in regulation when Kyleigh Knell tallied her second of the game to make it 2-0.
 
Just the Stats
Oneonta held a 13-12 advantage in shots and a 14-11 lead in penalty corners. Cali Cortese (Yorktown Heights/Lakeland) led Oneonta with four shots, two of them on cage. Emily Raymond (Deposit/Deposit) and Sophia Little (Northport/Northport) had three shots apiece for the Red Dragons. Kristy Campana (Melville/Walt Whitman) made two stops in net in a losing effort.

What's Next
The Red Dragons return to action on Saturday, September 21st when they host to Kean University at 1:00pm on All College Field.
