Box Score The Oneonta State women's lacrosse team picked up a 17-10 road win tonight at Scranton. With the victory, the Red Dragons run its season record to 10-2 overall, reaching 10 wins for the first time since the 2008 season when they finished 10-7.
After Scranton (10-4) scored the opening goal of the game just 50 seconds in, Oneonta bounced back with a pair of goals, both scored by junior
Caroline Tulley (Malverne/Sacred Heart Academy). Tulley would finish the game with six goals and one assist to lead the Red Dragons.
After an unassisted goal by Emily Goss at the 17:22 mark tied the game at five apiece, Oneonta closed the first half with four unanswered goals to take a comfortable 9-5 lead into halftime. Tulley,
Chelsea Collins (St. James/Smithtown East) and
Jillian Donodeo (Holbrook/Sachem East) each had a goal and an assist for Oneonta.
Tulley got things going in the second half, giving Oneonta its largest lead at 10-5. Scranton got as close as four goals at 14-10 before the Red Dragons shut the door, scoring the final three goals of the game for the final margin of victory.
Donodeo finished the game with three goals and three assists while senior
Rebecca Monteith (West Islip/West Islip) added three goals and two assists.
Senior
Annelise Muscietta (Lindenhurst/Walter O'Connell Copiague) made nine saves in picking up her 10th win of the season.
Oneonta will host Oswego this Saturday in a SUNYAC contest beginning at noon.
