SUNY Oneonta junior
Rosemarie Fazio (Mohegan Lake/Lakeland) scored a pair of goals, but the visiting Buffalo State Bengals clamped down on the rest of the Red Dragons' offense today en route to an 18-5 win in SUNYAC women's lacrosse action today.
Buffalo State (6-3/2-0) jumped out to an early 2-0 lead on goals by freshman Ashley Caporizzo (Liverpool/Cicero-N. Syracuse) and senior Katie Henderson (Lakeview/Frontier).
Fazio got Oneonta (7-4/1-3) on the board 4:23 into the first half to cut the Bengals lead to 2-1.
Henderson would score on a free position shot at 5:20 followed by an unassisted goal by sophomore Karen Shaddock (Corning/Corning East) to give Buffalo State a 4-1 lead.
After another Fazio goal to make ths score 4-2, the Bengals ran off five unanswered to take control of the game. A pair of goals by Henderson and sophomore Kendyl Clarkson (Painted Post/Corning West) gave Buffalo State a 9-2 lead.

Caroline Tulley (Malverne/Sacred Heart Academy) got Oneonta as close as they would be for the remainder of the game as Buffalo added four more goals before halftime to take a 13-4 lead at the intermission.
Henderson paced Buffalo State with six goals and two assists. Shaddock finished with a pair of goals and three assists as did junior Molly Seifritz (Liverpool/Henninger).
Junior goalie Ashley O'Brien (Honeoye Falls/Honeoye) made 13 saves in goal for the Bengals in recording the win.
Oneonta will not play again until next Tuesday, Apr. 20 when they travel to New Paltz for another SUNYAC contest beginning at 4:00 p.m.
