ONEONTA, N.Y. - The Oneonta men's soccer team and defending SUNYAC champions announced the 2026 schedule today, with the Red Dragons hosting eight home matches on Red Dragon Field. The season kicks off at home against Union on September 1. A highlight of this season is the addition of new SUNYAC competitors Cobleskill, Delhi, and Alfred State.
Following the home opener, Oneonta hosts the annual Mayor's Cup Tournament, when they play Middle Atlantic Conference (MAC) foes Hood on September 5 and King's (PA) on September 6.
Up next is an eight-game road trip starting at St. Lawrence on September 12. Oneonta makes the short trip to Hartwick on September 15 for the "Battle of the Hills" before traveling to regional competitor RPI on September 19. The non-conference games conclude at Skidmore on
September 22 and then Rutgers-Newark on September 26.
The Red Dragons have their first two SUNYAC games on the road, beginning with Canton on September 30. October starts at Plattsburgh on October 3, before Oneonta finally returns to host Potsdam in conference action on October 7. Fredonia and new SUNYAC opponent Cobleskill come to Oneonta on October 10 and 14, respectively.
The Red Dragons are back on the road for a rematch of last year's SUNYAC Championship game at Buffalo State on October 17. The final road match is in Delhi on October 21, before the regular season concludes with home matches against Alfred State on October 24 and Morrisville on October 25.
Starting in the 2026 season, eight SUNYAC teams qualify for the conference tournament, with the first round on October 28 and the finals played on November 7.
Oneonta finished the 2025 season at 12-5-4 overall and 5-2-2 in the conference and claimed the program's 13th SUNYAC title with a 2-1 victory over Buffalo State.
