Men's Soccer Coaches Named SUNYAC Coaching Staff of the Year as Seven Red Dragons Earn All-Conference

ONEONTA, N.Y. -- The SUNYAC announced it's men's soccer annual awards, including the Players of the Year, Coaching Staff of the Year, and All-Conference teams, and the Oneonta men's soccer coaches received the Coaching Staff of the Year award, while seven Red Dragons were named to the All-SUNYAC team. The coaching staff this season was led by head coach Iain Byrne and his assistant coaches consisted of Tim Sagasti, Chris Saggese, and Ian Zingaro.

"Iain has long been one of the premier men's soccer coaches in this country, and the season our program put together this year makes this recognition more than deserving," said Oneonta's Director of Athletics Ryan Hooper. "Being named the SUNYAC Coaching Staff of the Year is truly special, especially given the caliber of soccer within the SUNYAC and throughout the region."

The men's soccer coaching staff led the 2025 team to the program's 13th SUNYAC Title, and their 16th NCAA Tournament appearance. The Red Dragons went 5-2-2 in conference play and earned the five seed for the SUNYAC tournament, where they won three road matches at New Paltz (3-0), No. 9 nationally ranked Cortland (3-3 tie, advanced on PKs, 4-3), and Buffalo State (2-1) for the championship. Oneonta finished the season 12-5-4 overall.

"Iain's success stems from his deep knowledge of the game and his ability to recruit talented student-athletes who fit his style and elevate our program's identity," Hooper continued. "I'm extremely proud to have him representing SUNY Oneonta at the helm of the men's soccer program. Congratulations to Iain and his staff on this outstanding honor."

The seven athletes that earned All-Conference were seniors Zach Rabadi (Hopewell Junction, N.Y./John Jay), Milton Mancias Magana (Mamaroneck, N.Y./Mamaroneck), Luigi Prosperi (Lynbrook, N.Y./Lynbrook), Dillon Kelly (Wappingers Falls, N.Y./Beacon), Sam Rogers (Broadalbin, N.Y./Broadalbin-Perth), and juniors Imari Harris (Kingston, NY/Kingston) and Adrian Matute (Islip, N.Y./Islip). Rabadi was selected to the first team, while Mancias Magana, Prosperi, and Matute got second team, and Kelly, Rogers, and Harris received third team honors. It is the third time Mancias Magana and Prosperi have collected All-SUNYAC status, the second for Kelly and Matute, and the first for Rabadi, Harris, and Rogers.

"I feel if the voting was done after the conference tournament, we would have had far stronger representation," Coach Byrne commented. "Still, there's a lot of our players receiving recognition, and congratulations to them."
