Six Red Dragons Named to CSC Women's Track & Field / Cross Country Academic All-District Team

ONEONTA, N.Y. - The Oneonta women's cross country/track & field team had six student-athletes recognized on the 2025-26 Academic All-District® Women's Track & Field / Cross Country Team, selected by College Sports Communicators (CSC) and announced on Tuesday. The award recognizes the nation's top student-athletes for their combined athletic and academic achievements.

The six Red Dragons honored were Anya Sloth (Oneonta, NY/Oneonta Senior), Jaiden Schrag (New Berlin, NY/Unadilla Valley Central), Tarryn Herman (Franklinville, NY/Franklinville), Nicolette DuBose (Levittown, NY/Island Trees), Mackenzie Lawrence (Berne, NY/Berne-Knox), and Gia Engel (Syosset, NY/Syosset).

To be nominated, a student-athlete must have at least a 3.50 cumulative grade point average (on a 4.0 scale) at her current institution. A limit of six nominations per team is set. In Track & Field / Cross Country, nominees must be ranked among the Top 50 in the region in at least one event (XC, indoor or outdoor).

Sloth finished the semester with a 3.60 cumulative GPA, studying psychology. During the cross country season, she placed 13th at the SUNYAC Championships at 22:58.7 for All-SUNYAC Third Team honors. Sloth then led the Red Dragons with a 40th-place finish (23:12.2) at the NCAA Division III Niagara Regional Championship.

Schrag continued to have a decorated indoor and outdoor season and holds a 3.84 GPA in exercise science. She earned all-region honors in the 4x100 relay, 100-meter hurdles, 400-meter hurdles, and long jump. Schrag finished as the outdoor SUNYAC Champion in the 100 hurdles at 14.88 and the long jump champion at 5.55 meters. She was All-SUNYAC Second Team in the triple jump at 10.85 meters. In the indoor season, Schrag was All-SUNYAC Second Team in the long jump (5.59 meters) and 60-meter hurdles (8.96).

Herman graduated with a 3.62 cumulative GPA in dietetics. She was the outdoor SUNYAC Champion in the shot put (12.29 meters) and hammer throw (52.26 meters), and was All-SUNYAC Second Team in the indoor shot put (11.19 meters) and weight throw (15.89 meters).

DuBose currently holds a 3.97 GPA in biology and earned outdoor all-region honors in the triple jump. She was part of the All-SUNYAC Second Team 4x100 relay, and was the SUNYAC Champion in the indoor triple jump at 11.50 meters.

Lawrence concluded the year with a 3.90 GPA in Childhood Education (1-6). Lawrence had multiple top-five finishes in the throwing events, including a fourth-place finish in the hammer throw at the SUNYAC Championships at 48.68 meters. Lawrence placed 15th in the shot put at the Outdoor AARTFC Championships at 11.98 meters.

Engel competed in both cross-country and track and finished the year with a 3.88 GPA in psychology. In cross country, Engel placed 15th at the SUNYAC Championships at 23:04.0 for All-SUNYAC Third Team honors. She was then named All-SUNYAC Second Team in the 10,000 meters with a time of 37:53.97 during the outdoor season.

The CSC Academic All-America® program separately recognizes track & field / cross country honorees in four divisions — NCAA Division I, NCAA Division II, NCAA Division III and NAIA. Select Academic All-District® honorees advance to the CSC Academic All-America® ballot. First-, second and third-team Academic All-America® honorees will be announced on July 15.
