ONEONTA, N.Y. - The Oneonta women's volleyball team had two student-athletes named to the College Sports Communicators (CSC) Academic All-District Team announced on Tuesday morning. The award recognizes the nation's top student-athletes for their combined performances on the court and in the classroom.
Earning the recognition for the first time are junior
Emma Morretta (Mahopac, NY/Mahopac) and sophomore
Shea Landversicht (Greenville, NY/Greenville).
To be nominated, a student-athlete must be an All-Conference-caliber player with a cumulative grade point average of at least 3.50 (on a 4.0 scale). Nominated athletes must have participated in at least 90 percent of the team's games or started at least two-thirds of the team's contests.
Morretta, a sport management and business administration major, holds a 3.78 GPA and started 27 matches this past season. She finished fourth on the team with 173 kills and was second with 73 blocks. Landversicht, an adolescence education and chemistry major, currently has a 4.00 cumulative GPA. She led the Red Dragons with 216 kills with a .287 hitting percentage. Landversicht added 30 service aces and a team-high 89 blocks.
The College Sports Communicators Academic All-America® program separately recognizes volleyball honorees in four divisions — NCAA Division I, NCAA Division II, NCAA Division III and NAIA. A committee selects certain Academic All-District® honorees to advance to the CSC Academic All-America® ballot. First-, second- and third-team Academic All-America® awards will be announced on January 13, 2026.
