ONEONTA, N.Y. -- Oneonta women's tennis sophomore
Taylor Plue (Saratoga Springs, N.Y./Saratoga Springs) earned the SUNYAC Women's Tennis Singles Athlete of the Week award for the week of September 29-October 5, announced by the conference Monday afternoon. This is the first time in Plue's career that she's been named the conference player of the week.
Plue picked up a dominant singles victory and finished the week 1-0 as Oneonta went 1-0 with a 6-1 SUNYAC win over Fredonia. The Saratoga Springs, N.Y., native faced Allison Bartoszek on the No. 3 singles court. She bageled Bartoszek in a commanding first set then she continued to overpower her Blue Devil opponent in the second set for a 6-0, 6-1 win. Plue is currently 4-3 overall this season in singles play.
The Red Dragons (4-5, 1-3 SUNYAC) are back in action on Thursday, October 9, for their SUNYAC battle against Cortland at 3 pm at the Dr. Heissan Tennis Courts.
