Women’s Tennis Shuts Out Delhi, 7-0, in Season Finale

ONEONTA, N.Y. -- The Oneonta women's tennis team ended their season on a high note, dismantling SUNY Delhi in a 7-0 shutout victory Wednesday afternoon at Dr. Heissan '63 Tennis Courts. Oneonta only dropped three games against Delhi and won a singles and doubles court by default. Junior Haley Peck (West Point, N.Y./James I. O'Neil), sophomore Taylor Plue (Saratoga Springs, N.Y./Saratoga Springs), and freshman Kiersten Rufrano (Oneonta, NY) all shutout their respective singles opponents for a double bagel victory.

"Very happy we were able to take the match today with ease, 7-0," said Head Coach Brian Roser.

Freshman duo Ashley Glaviano (Glen Cove, NY/Glen Cove) and Trinity Lyons (Mastic, N.Y./William Floyd) shutout Virginia Savage and Aniyah Boston on court two, 6-0. The victory was Glaviano's eighth doubles win and Lyons' third win this season. Peck teamed up with freshman Dakota Jimenez (Poughquag, NY/Arlington) on the No. 1 doubles court and handled Alyssa Gregorious and Elizabeth Losee for a 6-1 win. It was Peck's ninth doubles victory and Jimenez's eighth this year. Sophomore pairing Annika Cripe (Islip, N.Y./Islip) and Taylor Plue (Saratoga Springs, N.Y./Saratoga Springs) won court three by default.

"I thought our women really made great strides in improvement this year, both as a team and individuals," Coach Roser commented. "With a very young team, I am proud of how our freshman continued to develop and adapt to the college level. Our returners showed a lot of growth, both on and off the court, with their own games and mentoring our first-year players."

The Red Dragons' dominant performance continued in singles play, as they allowed the Broncos to only take two games. Peck, Plue, and Rufrano all won their respective matches, 6-0, 6-0. Peck defeated Gregorius on court one for her seventh singles victory, while Plue beat Savage on court three for a team-high ninth singles win. Rufrano upended Boston on court four for her fourth singles win in her freshman campaign.

"I can't wait to compete again next year with this group for a SUNYAC Championship," Coach Roser concluded.

Cripe bageled Losee in the first set on singles court two, then the Red Dragons won the second set for a 6-0, 6-1 victory. The result improved Cripe's singles record to 7-5 this season. Sophomore Jaila Killingbeck (Cicero, N.Y./Cicero-North Syracuse) cruised past Alivia Mickle on court five, bageling her in the second set for a 6-1, 6-0 win. Killingbeck ended the season 2-0 in singles play. Jimenez won court six by default and ended her freshman year with a pair of singles wins.

The Red Dragons finished the 2025-26 season with an overall record of 7-13, while the Broncos ended their year with a 3-8 record.
