ROCHESTER, N.Y. - In the first 6,000-meter race of the year, the Oneonta women's cross country team placed 10th out of 17 teams with 283 points. Geneseo won the meet with 32 points, while Penelope Greene was the individual champion at 21:49.4.
Freshman Anna Kern () led the way for the Red Dragons with a 44th-place finish at 24:30.4. Senior Sabrinna Mena (Holtsville, NY/Sachem East) ran a 24:52.2 to cross the line 59th overall, while junior Eva Woodworth (Liverpool, NY/Liverpool) was 64th at 24:55.4.
Junior Olivia Holland (Cobleskill, NY/Cobleskill-Richmondville) ran a 25:18.4 to place 78th, and freshman Sophia crossed at 25:18.4 to take 105th. Sophomore took 118th at 26:03.4, while senior Sarah Luby (Patterson, NY/Brewster) finished 147th at 27:02.7.
Oneonta next competes at the Lehigh Paul Short Invite on Sat. Oct. 5.
