MORRISVILLE, N.Y. -- The SUNY Oneonta field hockey team survived Morrisville's first half run and scored eight straight goals to defeat the Mustangs on the road, 10-4, Friday afternoon in SUNYAC play. Junior
Molly Miller (Clifton Park, N.Y./Shenendehowa) finished with four goals and an assist in the win, graduate student
Erin Clark (Somers, N.Y./Somers) had a goal with three assists, and sophomore
Alexandra Howell (Holtsville, N.Y./Sachem East) recorded a hat trick. The Red Dragons improved to 7-5 on the season, 1-1 in the SUNYAC, and the Mustangs dropped to 5-8 overall, 0-3 in conference play.
Morrisville made it 2-0 at 2:53 with a couple goals from Jazlyn Leet and Iyla Lilleby. Miller scored the first goal for Oneonta after she collected her own rebound at 7:51, then Clark tied the game at 8:48 when she received the ball at midfield and dribbled all the way into the shooting circle for her third goal of the season.
Lilleby gave the Mustangs the lead off a pass from Leet before the end of the first period, then she extended the lead to 4-2 with her third goal of the game at 18:43. Following Lilleby's goal, Oneonta shut down Morrisville and recorded eight unanswered goals. Howell and Miller both found the back of the cage twice before halftime to give the Red Dragons a 6-4 lead. Miller assisted Howell on her first goal before completing her first half hat trick with a pair of scores, giving Oneonta the lead at 24:18. Howell made it a two-goal game off a pass from freshman

The Red Dragons added three more goals to their lead in the third period to go up 9-4. Graduate student
Michaela Maniscalco (Northport, N.Y./Northport) scored her third goal of the season off a pass from Clark on a penalty corner play. Clark then assisted Miller on her fourth of the game at 39:01 off another penalty corner opportunity, before Howell recorded her hat trick at 42:42 with an assist from sophomore
Kylie Hoffmann (Miller Place, N.Y./Miller Place).
Freshman
Julia Murphy (Miller Place, N.Y./Miller Place) scored her first collegiate goal, and the final goal of the contest, at 54:07. Clark received the ball off a penalty corner and took a shot from the top of the shooting circle that was tipped and redirected into the cage by Murphy.
Junior
Maura Leib (East Syracuse, N.Y./East Syracuse Minoa) finished with five saves for Oneonta and Emmaly Noeller had 12 saves for Morrisville. Following the win, Howell and Miller co-lead the team with nine goals, while Clark leads with six assists.
The Red Dragons outshot the Mustangs, 33-11, 23-9 on target, and had a 17-6 advantage in penalty corners.
Oneonta is back in action on Wednesday, October 16, when they travel to face Brockport at 4 pm.
