ITHACA, N.Y. -Â The Oneonta men's track & field continued its season at the Ithaca Quad Meet on Saturday. The Red Dragons placed third with 25 points, with two individuals placing first overall in their respective events.
Oneonta had three runners reach the 60-hurdle finals. In the prelims, freshman Ethan Christophersen (Bayport/Bayport Blue Pont High School) was fifth at 9.17, senior Aidan Kelly (Farmingdale, NY/Farmingdale) was seventh at 9.25, and freshman David Burns (Riverhead, NY/Riverhead) took eighth at 9.36. Christophersen finished fourth in the finals at 9.08, and Kelly was fifth with a 9.11.
Senior Chris Ganley (Pine Bush, NY/Pine Bush) ran a 7.02 in the 60-meter prelims for second and then earned second in the finals at 7.00.Â
Senior Luke Jarski (Massapequa, NY/Massapequa) won the 400-meter event at 50.24, and Alec Weiss (Selden, NY/Newfield) was sixth with a 53.18.Â
Junior Gabe Burns (Riverhead, NY/Riverhead) took fourth in the 800-meter at 2:01.09. Ganley went on to finish fifth in the 200-meter at 22.92.Â
Senior Jonthomas Bierman (Mamaroneck, NY/Mamaroneck) took second overall in the 3,000-meter race at 9:00.49.
In the weight throw, junior Marco Alteri threw 14.66 meters for sixth overall. Senior Vincent Zheng (Nanuet, NY/Nanuet) grabbed fourth in the shot put at 13.72 meters.Â
Kelly won the high jump at 1.88 meters, and freshman Jayden Tsoi (North White Plains, NY/Valhalla High School) was third at 1.78 meters. Cliff Biehl jumped 6.51 meters to place second in the long jump, while freshman Colby Hanna (Lake Luzerne, NY/Lake Luzerne) was fourth at 6.35 meters. Sophomore Josh Jerome (Guilderland, NY/Guilderland) finished fifth at 6.30 meters.
Oneonta next competes at the Boston University John Thomas Terrier Classic on Fri. Jan. 26.Â
