LA CROSSE, WI - Senior Tariq Earl (Centereach, NY/Centereach) fell on the final hurdle of the 110-meter hurdles preliminary round on Friday afternoon at the NCAA Division III Outdoor Championships.
Earl took lane eight in the eight-runner first heat and held fifth place for most of the race. He looked to jump ahead on the final hurdle, but stumbled on the clear and was unable to finish.
Despite today's result, Earl finishes his Oneonta career as one of the most successful Red Dragon hurdlers in program history. He was the 110-meter hurdles SUNYAC Champion at 14.43, and broke the school record in the prelims at 14.23. Earl took fourth in the event at the AARTFC Championships and earned USTFCCCA Niagara All-Region honors.
