ONEONTA, N.Y. -Â The USTFCCCA has announced its list of All-Region honorees for the 2023 NCAA Division III Indoor Track & Field season. Earning honors in the Niagara Region from SUNY Oneonta men's and women's track & field teams were juniors Alec Weiss (Selden, NY/Newfield), Luke Jarski (Massapequa, NY/Massapequa), Jonthomas Bierman (Mamaroneck, NY/Mamaroneck), Richard Mangogna (Kings Park, NY/Kings Park), Isabella Fabrizio (Highland Mills, NY/Cornwall), Ejim Nnate (Port Jefferson Station, NY/Comsewogue), and freshman Owen Sullivan (Huntington, NY/Harborfields).
To earn All-Region honors, an individual must be one of the top-5 performers in one of the competed events or be a member of a relay foursome in the top-3.Â
Bierman, Weiss, Jarski, and Sullivan were selected for their time of 10:17.04 in the Men's Distance Medley Relay at the 2023 Boston University David Hemery Valentine Invite. Their time proved to be the fifth-fastest in program history.
Mangogna took first place in the Heptathlon at the SUNYAC Indoor Track & Field Championships with 4,649 points breaking the school record. He also broke his school record from last year in the pole vault record this year at the Marc Deneault Invitational 2023, with a height of 4.72 meters.Â
In the 3,000-meter, Bierman was honored for his time at the 2023 Boston University David Hemery Valentine Invite with his first-place time of 8:23.98. He broke the previous school record of 8:29.53, set by Anthony Lupia.
Jarski earned all-region honors for his time of 1:53.17 in the men's 800-meter race at the 2023 Boston University David Hemery Valentine Invite. His time is the second-fastest in Oneonta program history.
Nnate was honored for her 60-meter hurdles time of 9.05 at the SUNYAC Indoor Track & Field Championship. Her time currently is the second-fastest in program history at Oneonta.Â
Fabrizio had a stellar season in the shot put and set the school record this year. She threw 13.63 meters at the RIT February Friday Invitational and broke her school record of 12.88 meters from last year. Her mark was 18th across Division III, and she qualified for the NCAA Division Indoor Track National Championship Meet.Â
