ONEONTA, N.Y. - The College Sports Communicators (CSC) announced its academic all-district team for women's volleyball, and senior Ashanti Davis (Cortlandt Manor, NY/Hendrick Hudson) and sophomore Gianna May (Baldwinsville, NY/Baldwinsville) were selected for 2023. 

Davis is a Secondary Education & English major with a 3.54 cumulative GPA.

Davis started in all 26 matches and played in 96 of the 98 sets throughout the year. She led Oneonta in most statistical categories and led the team in kills (197), kills per set (2.05), hitting percentage (.300), and total blocks (87.0). Davis' hitting percentage was also the third-best in the SUNYAC.

Davis knocked in a career-high 19 kills in the win over Potsdam and recorded eight matches with ten or more kills. She also tallied seven matches with five or more blocks, with a season-high ten against Nazareth. 

May has a cumulative GPA of 3.87 while studying education and mathematics. She started ten matches while appearing in 25. May was second on the team with 138 kills and added 13 blocks, 41 digs, and one ace. She tallied a season-high 15 kills and four blocks against Oswego. 

The College Sports Communicators Academic All-America® program separately recognizes soccer honorees in four divisions — NCAA Division I, NCAA Division II, NCAA Division III, and NAIA. Academic All-District® honorees advance to the CSC Academic All-America® ballot. First--, second-, and third-team Academic All-America® honorees will be announced in early December.
