Oneonta Competes at Yellowjackets Invitational

ROCHESTER, N.Y. - Junior Megan Francoeur (New Lebanon, NY/Pittsfield (MA)) ran a personal record in the Yellow Jackets Invitational hosted by Rochester University on Saturday morning. Francoeur ran a 23:31.9 in the team's first 6k of the season, 17 seconds faster than her previous best time from last year. 

The Red Dragons took 15th out of 25 teams, with NYU placing first with 46 points. The Violets' Grace Ricardson took first overall with a time of 22:39.4. 

Francoeur was the top SUNYAC finisher with a 12th-place finish, while junior Emily Rudolph (Stillwater, NY/Webb UFSD) crossed the line at 24:56.4 for 71st overall. Senior Ella DePhillips (Monroe, NY/Monroe-Woodbury) was the next Red Dragon and ran a 25:42.3 to place 107th. 

Senior Sarah Vincente followed with a 27:05.6 to finish 178th, and junior Sarah Luby (Patterson, NY/Brewster) ran a 27:48.8 for 193rd. Junior Molly Chiarella (Niagara Falls, NY/Niagara Falls) was next at 28:15.2, while junior Oliva O'Donnell was Oneonta's seventh finisher with a time of 29:25.6. 

Junior Sierra Basco (Albany, NY/Shaker) finished at 30:38.3, and the first-year trio of Tarryn Herman (Franklinville, NY/Franklinville), Oliva Holland, and Lindsey Urist (East Meadow, NY/East Meadow) rounded out the Oneonta runners. 

The Red Dragons return next week to host the Oneonta Airfield on Sat. Sept. 24 at 10 a.m.
