A Quick Look
The SUNY Oneonta women's lacrosse team fell 13-9 against Brockport in their regular season finale. The Red Dragons finished the regular season 7-8 overall and 5-4 in conference while the Golden Eagles finished 10-5 overall and 7-2 in the SUNYAC.
The Inside Story
Senior
Rachel Morris (East Greenbush/Columbia) and junior
Megan Foiles (Pearl River/Pearl River) answered for the first couple goals Brockport scored against Oneonta, however Allison Jennings scored twice before the first quarter ended and gave the Golden Eagles a 4-2 lead.
Both teams scored three times in the second quarter, allowing Brockport to maintain a two-goal lead going into halftime, 7-5. Sophomore
Lauren Mancini (Miller Place/Miller Place) netted two goals and freshman
Mason Benvenuto (Lynbrook/Lynbrook) was assisted by sophomore
Marissa Evans (Jamesville/LaFayette) for the Red Dragons, and Jennings, Alayna Foos, and Cassidy Burnash scored for the Golden Eagles.
Foos and Claire Odett scored the first three goals of the third quarter, extending Brockport's lead 10-5 with 10:22 left in the quarter. Foiles stopped the run with a free-position goal and then assisted Morris, putting Oneonta within three. Odett and Foiles traded goals before the end of the quarter, and the Golden Eagles entered the fourth up 11-8.
Brockport's defense caused a couple failed clear attempts, had Odett and Jennings score and brought their lead to 13-8 with 6:04 remaining. The Red Dragons were held scoreless until Mancini assisted Morris with 1:10 left.
Just the Stats
Brockport outshot Oneonta 37-26 and had a 23-15 advantage on groundballs. The Red Dragons committed seven fewer turnovers and were 22-26 on clears while the Golden Eagles were 18-23.
Morris and Foiles each had a hat trick and an assist, and Mancini finished with two goals and an assist. Sophomore
Courtney Gallagher (Montrose/Hendrick Hudson) had a career-high 18 saves in the contest.

The Red Dragons will host Oswego in the first round of the SUNYAC tournament on Tuesday at 4 pm on Red Dragon Field.
