The Saints controlled the first quarter, scoring the first three goals of the game. With under a minute remaining in the first, junior
Megan Foiles (Pearl River/Pearl River) scored a Red Dragons goal off the pass from sophomore
Margaret Byrne (Poughkeepsie/Arlington). Before the quarter ended, St. Lawrence scored on a man-up opportunity and closed the first with a 4-1 lead. Â
The Saints scored back-to-back goals midway through the second to increase their lead to five. With 5:59 remaining in the half, Foiles scored her second of the contest, assisted from sophomore
Ana Stiso (Latham/Shaker). St. Lawrence closed out the half with three more goals, giving them a 9-2 advantage entering halftime.
The Saints scored six unanswered goals to start the third, they had five different scorers during the stretch. Foiles recorded her hat trick with an unassisted goal with 2:10 left in the third. Before the third quarter ended, St. Lawrence scored a last-minute goal and extended the lead 16-3.
In the fourth quarter the Red Dragons outscored the Saints 5-2. Senior
Rachel Morris (East Greenbush/Columbia) scored three of the goals, with Foiles and senior
Isabella Marx (Dix Hills/Half Hollow Hills East) netting the other two. Â
Just the Stats
Foiles led Oneonta with four goals. Morris scored three goals, caused two turnovers, and had four ground balls. St. Lawrence had five players with multiple goals, Isabel Silvia led with four. The Saints outshot the Red Dragons 32-13, and had an advantage on groundballs, 20-18. Â

The Red Dragons return to action Friday, as they travel to play Farmingdale at 3 pm.
