The SUNY Oneonta women's lacrosse team was downed by rival Cortland today at home 15-3. The loss for Oneonta drops them to 2-5 overall while falling to 0-1 in the SUNYAC while Cortland leaves town with an even 4-4 record overall and 2-0 in the conference.

The Inside Story
The visitors jumped out to an early 4-0 lead in the opening six minutes of play. Four different players scored for Cortland, and all came unassisted.

Senior
Rachel Morris (East Greenbush/Columbia) broke the string and got Oneonta on the scoreboard at the 8:19 mark. Classmate
Kelly McCloe (Endicott/Union-Endicott) followed with her second goal of the year off an assist from junior
Megan Foiles (Pearl River/Pearl River).

Gabby Meager scored her second goal of the first quarter to give Cortland a 5-2 lead at the end of the stanza.

Meager opened the scoring in the second quarter just 24 seconds in with an assist from Toni Cashman. Foiles would score five minutes later to get Oneonta to within three goals, but unfortunately that would be the last goal of the contest for the hosts.

Cortland led 8-3 at the break and then held Oneonta scoreless for the second half while tacking on seven goals for themselves making the final 15-3.

Just the Stats
Cortland outshot Oneonta 28-19 in the game and collected 15 of the 20 draw controls. Both goalies made nine saves in the game.

Oneonta will be at home again this coming Saturday facing Oswego at 3pm.
