After completing the four-day SUNYAC championship meet, the SUNY Oneonta men's swimming & diving team found itself in fifth place in the final standings scoring a total of 319 points. SUNY Geneseo was the overall team champion.,

The Inside Story
Oneonta's cumulative effort brought home a SUNYAC medalist performance on the opening day of competition in the very first event, as the quartet of senior
Sean Geddes (Farmingdale/Farmingdale), sophomore
Kyle Copper (Canandaigua/Marcus Whitman) and freshmen
James Llewellyn (Great River/East Islip) and
Mason DeLisio (Kingston/Kingston) placed third in the 800-yard freestyle relay. With their finish in the event, the foursome also earned Third Team All-Conference honors.

Copper, Llewellyn and DeLisio were also part of the 400-yard medley relay that added freshman
Jonathan Stanzione (East Islip/East Islip) to place sixth. The three added sophomore
Eli Cohen (Schoharie/East Lake (Fla)) to finish fourth in the 400-yard freestyle relay, which was final event of the championship.

In the 200-yard medley relay, Copper was joined by senior
Derek Luhrs (Cornwall/Cornwall Central) and sophomores
Ross Caimano (Queensbury/Queensbury) and
Daniel Oh (Huntington/Harborfields) and finished fifth.

The foursome of DeLisio, Cohen, Caimano and Oh combined to place fifth in the 200-yard freestyle relay.

Individual top-8 performances were turned in by senior
Colin Davis (Chester/Monroe-Woodbury), DeLisio, Copper, Llewellyn, Geddes, and Luhrs. Llewellyn and Copper led this group with a pair of top-8 finishes.

Copper had the highest overall individual placement in the championships with his fourth place finish in the 200-yard butterfly. Copper second top-8 finish came in the 100-yard butterfly.

Llewellyn's top-8 finishes came in the 100 and 200-yard backstroke events where he was sixth in both.

Davis posted a personal best score of 426.20 to finish seventh in the 3-meter diving. He also placed ninth in the 1-meter event with a score of 410.50.

DeLisio's top-8 performance came in the 50-yard freestyle where he was sixth touching in at 21.82 seconds.

Geddes finished eighth in the 1,650-yard freestyle (17:43.84) while Luhrs was seventh in the 200 backstroke (2:03.19).
