ONEONTA, N.Y. - Senior Kayla Rende (Wantagh, NY/Wantagh) of the Oneonta women's volleyball team was selected as a member of the 2022 Academic All-District Team selected by College Sports Communicators (CSC) last week.

Rende served as the Red Dragon's primary setter, starting 17 of 22 matches while playing in 82 sets. She was third in the SUNYAC and led the team with 626 assists (7.63 per set). Rende added 19 service aces, 27 kills, and 135 digs. This season also saw the setter surpass 1,000 career assists and finished with 1,016.

Rende is an Adolescent Education major with an English concentration and recorded a 3.93 cumulative GPA. 

The 2022 Academic All-District® Women's Volleyball Teams, selected by College Sports Communicators, recognize the nation's top student-athletes for their combined performances on the court and in the classroom. The CSC Academic All-America program separately recognizes volleyball honorees in four divisions — NCAA Division I, NCAA Division II, NCAA Division III, and NAIA.

Academic All-District® honorees advance to the CSC Academic All-America® ballot. First-, second-, and third-team Academic All-America® honorees will be announced in late December.
