Brockport, NY  - The SUNY Oneonta men's swimming & diving team got off to a great start in 2016 with a win over SUNYAC rival Brockport on Saturday. The men dominated winning 10 events overall enroute to a 157-101 victory.
The day started off with a win for the Red Dragons in the 400-yard medley relay when sophomore
Zeke Brynin (Pleasantville/Pleasantville), seniors
Lucas Santiago (Amsterdam/Amsterdam) and
Daniel Condon (Middletown/Middletown) and junior
Greg Fothergill (Lindenhurst/Lindenhurst Senior) touched in 3:45.91. Santiago would pick up a pair of individual wins for Oneonta in the 100 and 200-yard butterfly events. Brynin would also pick up two wins for the Red Dragons in the 100 and 200-yard breaststroke events. Fothergill would win the 200-yard backstroke event with a time of 2:08.57.
The Red Dragon's winning ways continued in the 1000-yard freestyle, as senior
Connor Killane (Clifton Park/Shenendehowa) was victorious with a time of 10:25.08 time followed by teammate
Conor Kelly (Staten Island/Saint Peter's) in a time of 10:30.39. Killane would also win the 500-yard freestyle while Kelly would pick up a victory later in the day in the 100-yard freestyle.
Senior
Michael Newell (Port Jefferson Station/Comseqogue) then took the winners spot in the 200-yard freestyle followed by teammates, senior
Merrick Shawe (Farmington/Victor) and junior Nicholas Pecraro, taking second and third respectively.
Senior
Joseph Morgan (Cornwall/Cornwall) was the final winner of the day for Oneonta taking the top spot in the 100-yard backstroke.

The men's swimming and diving team will meet the New Paltz Hawks on campus next Saturday, Jan. 23 at 1 PM in the Chase Physical Education Pool.
