Oneonta Wraps Up First Day of Bucknell Outdoor Classic

LEWISBURG, PA - The Oneonta men's track & field team sent part of the team to the Bucknell Outdoor Classic on Saturday, with the Red Dragons represented in five events. The unscored meet features athletes from Division I, II, and III institutions.

Junior Isaiah Slater (Brooklyn, NY/John F. Kennedy) highlighted the long jump as the highest Division III finisher at 6.97 meters for sixth place. Senior Josh Jerome (Guilderland, NY/Guilderland) took 24th at 6.13 meters.

Four Oneonta runners competed in the 1,500-meter race, with junior Noah Pickard (Batavia, NY/Batavia) placing 40th at a personal best of 4:03.89. Junior Lucas Berg (Nyack, NY/Nyack) recorded a personal best of 4:05.26 to take 48th.

Freshman Xander Kunz (Elbridge, NY/Jordan-Elbridge) took first in his 800 heat at a personal record of 1:57.71. Junior Jonathan McGwyne-Dantis (Blauvelt, NY/Tappan Zee) bested his personal record with a 1:59.12.

Senior Justin Baldwin (Cato, NY/Cato-Meridian) led the Red Dragons in the discus at 40.00 meters for 27th place. Junior Connor Vredenburgh (Bainbridge, NY/Bainbridge) was 31st (38.63 meters), and Senior Sawyer Eckberg (Maryland, NY/Laurens-Milford) took 32nd (37.86 meters).

Oneonta continues the Bucknell Outdoor Classic on Sunday, April 12.
