Oneonta Women's Track & Field Places Four on USTFCCCA All-Region Team

hONEONTA, N.Y. - The Oneonta women's track & field team had four athletes earn U.S. Track & Field and Cross Country Coaches Association (USTFCCCA) All-Niagara Region recognition following the conclusion of the NCAA Division III indoor season.

The top eight individuals in each event from their region on the year-end Descending Order Lists earned an All-Region distinction, in addition to each member of the region's top eight relay teams. Senior Tarryn Herman (Franklinville, NY/Franklinville) grabbed all-region in the shot put and weight throw, junior Nicolette DuBose (Levittown, NY/Island Trees) in the triple jump, sophomore Jaiden Schrag (New Berlin, NY/Unadilla Valley Central) in the 60-meter hurdles and long jump, and sophomore Natalia Sweat (Newburgh, NY/Newburgh) in the mile.

Herman was the SUNYAC runner-up in both the shot put (12.21 meters) and the weight throw (15.81 meters). She recorded a personal best of 15.89 meters in the weight throw at the AARTFC Championships. Herman had a personal record of 13.12 meters to finish second in the shot put at the Ithaca Bomber Invitational.

DuBose won gold in the triple jump at the SUNYAC CHampionships at a personal best of 11.50 meters. She went on to place 12th at the AARTFC Championships at 11.0 meters.

Schrag earned All-SUNAYC Second Team honors in the 60-meter hurdles and the long jump. She set personal bests in both at the SUNYAC Championships with an 8.96 in the hurdles and 5.59 meters in the long jump. Schrag placed eighth in the 60-meter hurdle final at the AARTFC Championships at 9.01.

Sweat placed second in the mile at the SUNYAC Championships at 4:59.33. She continued with a runner-up finish at the AARTFC Championships, setting a personal best of 4:57.57.

Oneonta finished the indoor season, placing second at the SUNYAC Championships and tying for 16th at the AARTFC Championships. The outdoor season begins on Friday, March 27, at the Ramapo College Invitational.
