NEW YORK, N.Y. - The Oneonta women's track & field team took part in the first day of the AARTFC Championships on Friday, with the Red Dragons represented in six events.
In the 60-meter dash prelims, junior Nicolette DuBose (Levittown, NY/Island Trees) placed 34th at 8.02, while sophomore Jaiden Schrag (New Berlin, NY/Unadilla Valley Central) was 38th at 8.06. Freshman Olivia Nicholls (Huntington Station, NY/Walt Whitman) ran an 8.09 for 39th overall.
Schrag qualified for the 60-meter hurdle finals, placing ninth in the prelims at 9.02. Junior Melinda Reid (New Rochelle, NY/New Rochelle) took 28th at 9.48, and junior Eko Dodd-Brown (New Rochelle, NY/New Rochelle) was 31st at 9.54.
Junior Gia Engel (Syosset, NY/Syosset) ran an 18:15.70 to place 13th in the 5,000-meter, while junior Anya Sloth (Oneonta, NY/Oneonta Senior) took 23rd at 18:44.18.
Schrag placed 18th in the long jump with a mark of 5.23 meters, while Dodd-Brown was 29th at 5.00 meters.
In the shot put, sophomore Mackenzie Lawrence (Berne, NY/Berne-Knox) took 21st at 11.36 meters. Senior Tarryn Herman (Franklinville, NY/Franklinville) hit 11.19 meters for 24th overall.
The DMR of Olivia Komacke, Eva Woodworth (Liverpool, NY/Liverpool), Alex Friedel (Irondequoit, NY/Irondequoit), and Summer Sayaves (Levittown, NY/General Douglas MacArthur) crossed at 13:04.85 for 15th place.
Oneonta concludes the AARTFC Championships on Saturday, March 6.
