Sweat Crowned 1,500 Champion to Highlight AARTFC Championships

COLLEGEVILLE, N.Y. - The Oneonta women's track & field team finished the AARTFC Outdoor Championships on Thursday, finishing 24th out of 50 teams with 15 points. Rochester won the meet with 70 points.

Sophomore Natalia Sweat (Newburgh, NY/Newburgh) claimed the 1,500-meter title after running a personal best of 4:29.27 for first overall. Her time is second best in Oneonta program history and currently ranks 22nd in Division III.

Sophomore Jaiden Schrag (New Berlin, NY/Unadilla Valley Central) scored in the 400-meter hurdles at 1:04.58 for fourth overall.

In the 200-meter dash, freshman Olivia Nicholls (Huntington Station, NY/Walt Whitman) took 15th at 25.37.

Sophomore Mackenzie Lawrence (Berne, NY/Berne-Knox) took 15th in the shot put at 11.98 meters, and senior Tarryn Herman (Franklinville, NY/Franklinville) was 20th at 11.29 meters.

Junior Nicolette DuBose (Levittown, NY/Island Trees) finished 24th in the triple jump at 10.50 meters.

Oneonta now awaits to see if any Red Dragons qualify for the NCAA Division III Outdoor Championships held on May 21.
