Red Dragons Wrap Up First Day of AARTFC Championships

COLLEGEVILLE, PA - The Oneonta women's track & field team began the first day of action at the AARTFC Outdoor Championships on Wednesday, hosted at Ursinus College.

The Red Dragons began with a ninth-place performance in the 4x100 relay. Jaiden Schrag (New Berlin, NY/Unadilla Valley Central), Olivia Nicholls (Huntington Station, NY/Walt Whitman), Gracie Gorrell (Columbus, NY/Unadilla Valley Central), and Nicolette DuBose (Levittown, NY/Island Trees) posted a time of 48.07.

Junior Eko Dodd-Brown (New Rochelle, NY/New Rochelle) finished 24th in the 100-meter hurdles at 15.74. Nicholls took 27th in the 100-meter dash at 12.60.

In the 5,000-meter race, junior Gia Engel (Syosset, NY/Syosset) crossed 23rd at 18:27.65, while junior Anya Sloth (Oneonta, NY/Oneonta Senior) placed 26th at 18:35.75. Freshman Jill Cinquina (Cortlandt Manor, NY/Walter Panas) finished 18th in the 10,000-meter at 40:37.17.

In the field events, Schrag cleared 5.34 meters to place 14th in the long jump. Dodd-Brown hit 5.04 meters for 19th place.

Sophomore Mackenzie Lawrence (Berne, NY/Berne-Knox) was 16th in the hammer throw at 46.18 meters, and senior Tarryn Herman (Franklinville, NY/Franklinville) took 18th at 46.18 meters.

Oneonta continues the AARTFC Championships on Thursday, May 14, starting at 10 a.m.
