Four Red Dragons Named USTFCCCA All-Region

ONEONTA, N.Y. - The Oneonta men's track & field team had four athletes earn U.S. Track & Field and Cross Country Coaches Association (USTFCCCA) All-Niagara Region recognition following the conclusion of the NCAA Division III indoor season.

The top eight individuals in each event from their region on the year-end Descending Order Lists earned an All-Region distinction, in addition to each member of the region's top eight relay teams. Senior Tariq Earl (Centereach, NY/Centereach) earned all-region for the 60-meter hurdles, senior Josh Jerome (Guilderland, NY/Guilderland) for the triple jump, junior Kejhaune Lester (Castleton, NY/Columbia) in the 60-meter and 200-meter, and junior Isaiah Slater (Brooklyn, NY/John F. Kennedy) in the long jump.

Earl finished as the SUNYAC runner-up in the 60-meter hurdles at a season-best time of 8.28. He placed 24th at the AARTFC Championships at 8.49.

Jerome finished seventh in the triple jump at the SUNYAC Championships at 13.36 meters. He continued with a 17th-place performance at the AARTFC Championships at 13.62 meters. Jerome set a personal best mark of 13.96 meters at the Utica Holiday Classic to finish third overall.

Lester finished as the SUNYAC Champion in the 60-meter dash at 6.85. He won the prelims at a personal record of 6.83. Lester finished fourth in the 200-meter finals at the conference championships at a personal record of 22.23. He was fourth in the finals at 22.26.

Slater qualified for the NCAA Division III Championships with a mark of 7.24 meters set at the Ithaca Quad Meet. He finished 14th at the national championships with a mark of 6.68 meters to earn Second Team All-American status.

The Red Dragons finished tied for fourth at the SUNYAC Championships. The outdoor season opens on Friday, March 27, at the Ramapo College Invitational.
