Red Dragons Continue Season at Blue & Orange Invitational

UTICA, N.Y. - The Oneonta men's track & field competed at the Utica Blue & Orange Invitational on Saturday. While there was no team scoring, the Red Dragons had solid individual success.

The meet opened with the 3,000-meter, where freshman Tyler Masiello (Pleasantville, NY/Westlake) placed 18th at 9:35.45.

Senior Tariq Earl (Centereach, NY/Centereach) reached the 60-meter hurdle finals after placing seventh in the prelims at 8.64. He then took second in the finals with an AARTFC qualifying mark of 8.39.

In the 400-meter, junior Colin Gerbsch (Marcellus, NY/Marcellus) placed third at 53.68. Junior Mark Cappellino was fifth at 54.08, while freshman Chris Cordero (Massapequa, NY/Massapequa) ran a 54.13 for sixth place.

Junior Gabriel Schoonmaker (Stone Ridge, NY/Rondout Valley) hit 6.23 meters to finish 17th in the long jump, and junior Jayden Tsoi (North White Plains, NY/Valhalla High School) was 19th at 6.17 meters. Tsoi went on to finish fifth in the high jump at 1.72 meters.  

Oneonta next competes at the Utica Fast Trax Invite on Saturday, February 14.
