ITHACA, N.Y. - The Oneonta men's track & field competed at the Cornell Marc Deneault Invitational on Saturday, with some strong individual performances.
Senior Tariq Earl (Centereach, NY/Centereach) placed fourth in the 60-meter hurdle prelims at 8.50, and then finished second in the finals at 8.41.
Sophomore Vincent DiStefano (Nesconset, NY/Smithtown West) ran a personal best of 4:52.01 in the mile to finish 19th overall. Sophomore Colin Bresnihan (Massapequa, NY/Massapequa) placed eighth in the 400-meter with a personal best of 51.57, while freshman Jacob Prentice (New Berlin, NY/Unadilla Valley) took 11th at 52.01.
Fifth-year Gabe Burns (Riverhead, NY/Riverhead) placed ninth in the 800-meter at 2:00.65, while junior Jonathan McGwyne-Dantis (Blauvelt, NY/Tappan Zee) had a personal record of 2:01.85 for 11th. Freshman Xander Kunz (Elbridge, NY/Jordan-Elbridge) went for a personal best of 2:02.02 for 12th.
Senior Cam Spears (Bronx, NY/Monroe Woodbury) had a personal best time of 35.88 to finish fourth in the 300-meter race. Freshman Amir Mceachin (Middletown, NY/Middletown) took tenth in the 200-meter with a personal best of 22.87.
In the field events, senior Sawyer Eckberg (Maryland, NY/Laurens-Milford) took fourth in the weight throw at 15.65 meters. Junior Elijah Cruz (Pine Bush, NY/Pine Bush Central) grabbed seventh at 14.86 meters, while junior Connor Vredenburgh (Bainbridge, NY/Bainbridge) had a personal best of 14.63 meters for eighth.
Junior Isaiah Slater (Brooklyn, NY/John F. Kennedy) placed fifth in the long jump at 6.69 meters, while senior Josh Jerome (Guilderland, NY/Guilderland) took seventh at 6.53 meters.
Sophomore Gabriel Schoonmaker (Stone Ridge, NY/Rondout Valley) recorded a personal best of 13.05 meters to take sixth in the triple jump.
Oneonta next competes at the SUNYAC Indoor Championships on February 27.
