ROCHESTER, N.Y. - The Oneonta women's cross country team took eighth out of 24 teams at Saturday morning's Yellowjacket Invitational held at Rochester. Geneseo won the 6k meet with 39 points, while the Red Dragons scored 219.
Niagara's Alexa Briggs won the meet at 21:57.2.
Junior Gia Engel (Syosset, NY/Syosset) led the Red Dragons with a 30th-place finish at 23:21.9, while sophomore Natalia Sweat (Newburgh, NY/Newburgh) ran a 23:39.4 for 36th overall. Junior Anya Sloth (Oneonta, NY/Oneonta Senior) crossed 45th at 23:51.6, and freshman Jill Cinquina (Cortlandt Manor, NY/Walter Panas) took 50th at 24:03.4.
Junior Olivia Komacek (Whitesboro, NY/Whitesboro) finished 99th at 25:18.4, while sophomore Anna Kern (Central Valley, NY/Monroe-Woodbury) took 113th at 25:36.4. Senior Eva Woodworth (Liverpool, NY/Liverpool) took 115th at 25:37.9.
Oneonta next competes at the Lehigh Paul Short Invite on Oct. 3.
